I'm excited for the release!
Hello together. It's my first post here. I installed 15 RC1 today and it works great. I now like to be careful with updates or new installs. Is it right to use a 'current' mirror for installations and updates till the '15' mirror is activated? I only want the system staying so stable as it is right now.

Greetings and many thanks for Slackware 15 to the team!

Welcome to slackworld, yes you have to use a current mirror until then.

Thank you. I have to learn very much. Slackware is very different to perhaps Fedora or Ubuntu. I like it very much and I'm playing around with it. I could get updates including a new kernel and with the handbook I got the new kernel working.
Seems to be very stable.

Welcome Slackware is a very stable system. Just remember to check the changelog before updating for any important tidbits. You can do so with slackpkg and there's a changelog thread in the Slackware subforum which you've probably seen. If you choose to move to 15.0 when it's released this won't be as important since it basically only gets security updates that don't introduce big changes, but it's still a good practice.

Thanks for this advice. If 15.0 stable will be released I will stay on it to have a stable system. Perhaps I make a virtual machine with Slackware current to play around and learn more.
