Slackware 13.37 XFCE doesn't start after leaving computer idle overnight
I have Slackware 13.37, XFCE, 32 bit on a PC. When I leave it on overnight, it won't restart, the screen saver just runs. I have to shut it down and restart it to get it working again. I didn't find anything about it on Google, so I thought I'd throw it out here and see if anyone has a fix.
Thanks.
By screen saver, do you mean the monitor screen is blank, with LED blinking, if it has a LED, meaning it is in power save mode? Have you tried to log in from another machine?
Hmmm..... not a lot of information there but on my own machine (with an intel graphics chip) I had similar problems with 13.37 until I removed the xscreensaver package in xap. Now steady as a rock.

You could change the settings to blank screen only, which seems to work.
Had a similar problem when resuming from suspend on a laptop.
I went into "screen savers" and unchecked everything. "Lock screen saver" is unchecked. For some reason the screen saver preview box STILL shows some random screen savers!
If I knew where to find the xscreensaver package in xap I'd give that a shot too.
From curiosity - do you have maybe AMD graphic, or integrated AMD graphic in your computers or laptops? I have something alike with KDE and AMD drivers for 760G chipset. Suspend/hibernation didn't worked, when i left computer for a while it freezed - amd drivers, especially problem with opengl was at fault.
