Slack Upgrade and Forum Questions
Two questions here, both could be classified as 'newbie' but I haven't seen info to answer them:
1) The slackware.com site refers over and over to its Forum for support, but I searched the site and every link I could find, and I didn't see any official Slackware Forum web site. Any hints as to where this is?
2) On upgrading a Slack 8.1 to 9.0: how do you do it? Is it just as simple as booting with the 9.0 CD, and choosing an 'upgrade' option? And any recommendations on the good stuff in 9.0, and whether it's worth risking the upgrade?

Eh??? LQ is the OFFICAL forum for Slack? Then why wouldn't they mention that at all over at slackware.com, or put a link to LQ wherever it mentions 'forum'?
The installation does not have an upgrade option as such. There is however, a text file in the root directory of the CD containing upgrade instructions. IMO it is not really fullproof, but it works.
I personally back all my data up and do a re-install. Much cleaner.

Well they don't really mention it from their main site but from their links site: http://www.slackware.com/links/
They have LQ.org mentioned at very top as first link directly to the Slack forum here and also use to have a forum link from the http://store.slackware.com but they've redone that portion as there are no links anymore.
