10.0 uses xorg.conf, not XF86Config. Run xorgconfig from the command line.

Hi!

Try to change the resolution in /etc/X11/xorg.conf manually like below (change "Depth", "Modes" for your needs):

Code:
# **********************************************************************
# Screen sections
# **********************************************************************

Subsection "Display"
        Depth 24
        Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
        ViewPort 0 0
    EndSubsection

When I ran xorgconfig for the first time I inputted my own values for the horizontal and vertical scan ranges (obtain from my monitor's documentation) as well as the size of my video cards memory. When I got to the part where xorgconfig displays available resolutions for the different colour depths, it had picked up on my monitor's optimum resolution (1280x1024) . Of course you can change these before xorgconfig finishes. Although directly manipulating the xorg.conf file is probably a quicker way.
