Running LISA on Slackware


Hi

I installed LISA on the Slackware box, identified the subnet that i want to browse, and when i run the lan:/ to view the cmptrs around, i recieve an error message that says "lisa is not running". How can i start this service? Please help!

Hi i had the same prob,
lisa needs to be started as a deamon. Just configure it with the admin tool and then start under root
/opt/kde/bin/lisa
and check it out.
It should work.
If you want to browse smb networks i recommend for you to use " LinNeighborhood " which you can find here http://www.bnro.de/~schmidjo/

It works...it works...it works...
after starting the services as u said, i went for a tea, after that...lan:/ the network and wala....is working.

PS: Can U kindly give me mirror site for "LinNeighborhood"...(there is an error msg while downloading tar file) It feels cool too and I think is worth trying.
