hi,

when i rip a cd with cdparanoia, all the songs get labels track0*.cdda.wav.

ok nothing wrong with that, but how do i get to use the ID3 information as the track name?

you could get ripperX, it does have a CDDB feature that will label your mp3 or ogg with artist and song title, and include this info in the tag

Nope. You'll love this:

Fire up KDE & put the CD in. Then run konq, select the "services" tab on the left hand side, and pick the "Audio CD browser". It'll search cddb for the track names and ripping the tracks to ogg, wav or mp3 is as easy as drag & drop. It automatically inserts the id3 tags for you.

Almost all of my CDs were listed on cddb, so I didn't have to do much at all.
