It would be nice to get xdg-desktop-portal bumped to a newer version. Slackware-current is still on 1.16, while upstream is up to 1.18.
However it looks like after 1.16 they switched to a meson build and added flatpak as a dependency, so upgrading xdg-desktop-portal would require flatpak now.
I'm not sure where things stand with adding flatpak, but if that's a no-go, then is xdg-desktop-portal going to get stuck at 1.16 going forward?
In the upcoming xdg-desktop-portal-1.18.1 release, upstream is adding build options back in to disable the flatpak and bubblewrap dependencies (tho the option names have changed). Might be something to consider then.
Hello. Still requests for new software here, but I think we should ask for some stability, so...

@volkerdi
Would you share with us what are the milestones to reach before 15.1 release?

Hey folks, just some more updates on the road to an eventual beta. :-)
In util-linux, copy the PAM config file /etc/pam.d/login to /etc/pam.d/remote. Someone still uses telnetd and as man login tells us:
Code:
-h
Used by other servers (such as telnetd(8) to pass the name of the
remote host to login so that it can be placed in utmp and wtmp.
Only the superuser is allowed use this option.
Note that the -h option has an impact on the PAM service name. The
standard service name is login, but with the -h option, the name is
remote. It is necessary to create proper PAM config files (for
example, /etc/pam.d/login and /etc/pam.d/remote).

Our BDFL _does_ read these posts and has implemented your request.
Just out of curiosity, I'd like to ask Pat whether he has decided on upgrading to Plasma 6 on -current when it is released (in February according to some sources).
