For 'plasma' (this solve the 'kcm_keyboard',doesn't work in the 'systemsettings' without the symlink, /etc/X11/xkb)

Package 'xkbcomp', 'setxkbmap' need rebuild without this option '--with-xkb-config-root=/etc/X11/xkb', because the default path option is good, /usr/share/X11/xkb.

(--with-xkb-config-root=<paths>
Set default XKB config root (default:
${datadir}/X11/xkb)

rebuild 'plasma-desktop' and now 'kcm_keyboard' in the 'systemsettings' look in the good directoy /usr/share/X11/xkb, and work.

not solve the same problem in XFCE, I look for.

For 'xfce4', this, solve the 'xfce4-keyboard-settings' work without the symlink, /etc/X11/xkb:

this need to rebuild 'libxklavier' with the option '--with-xkb-base=/usr/share/X11/xkb' instead of '/etc/X11/kbd'

According to ./configure option, we can simply remove this option
Code:
--with-xkb-base=DIR XKB base path (by default it is /usr/share/X11/xkb)

From what I've seen, this is more or less the case for all the pkgs that are involved

KDE Frameworks 5.91 is here with lots of interesting and exciting changes,

I suggest zstd cause is a very light compression but have a good rate of size reduction.
I concur. I have installed the kernel packages 5.16.9 (with modules compressed with zstd) and here goes:
Code:
308M /lib/modules/5.16.7
87M /lib/modules/5.16.9
For what it's worth I attach a diff of the config files (which includes a few other modifications some probably due to having built with an older gcc version than in Slackware64-15.0).
Attached Files
File Type: txt config-generic-5.16.9.x64.diff.txt (5.4 KB, 21 views)
