package find


how do I find the name of package that contains
a particular program. ie., I would like to know which
package has the 'sed' program - I wud like to reinstall
it.

The manifest file in the /slackware directory on any given CD set has the contents of all of the packages listed. Finding sed is a bit awkward as a string search produces a result for every occurence of the word "compressed", which is in every package discription.

bin-8.3.0-i386-2.tgz, located in set d

includes sed.
