Any old-timers here?

Did you download floppy images with a modem? Sure did somewhere around Slackware 3 or thereabouts

Did you download or buy the first version on CD? Our local Business Depot had one lonely CD for sale and I grabbed as soon as I saw it

Do you use zipslack? I used zipslack and even used it to download and install x and a gui

Do you remember the version jump from 4 to 7? Sure do

Were you one of the acerbic members of the Slackware newsgroup? No. Never liked the newsgroups

Do you use linuxpackages.net? On occasion

Do you remember "It's a girl!"? Can't say as I do

Do you remember Linux 2.6 being in /testing for three releases? Guess I didn't pay attention to that detail at that time. I spent those years flip-flopping from Linux to Windows over and over again

Do you remember hotplug? Yes

Do you remember when slackbuilds.org went live? No. I was using Windows at that time

I purchased Slackware on CD at times.

Yes I remember that...

Yes I used to love Usenet when it was popular. Very sad that it died out after ISPs started getting rid of it due to the false criminal allegations by Andrew Cuomo.

I remember it, but don't think I ever used it. Before Slackbuilds (and still for a few things now) I mostly compiled from source and used RSS to keep track of new versions.

Sounds familiar...

I don't remember that happening, but I do remember Slackware before Slackbuilds.
