no /dev/sr0 (DVD/CDROM) detected after resume from suspension

Hi,

I use suspend a lot, but whenever I resume from this, I cannot burn/play DVDs anymore. I have to reboot in order to get the drive recognised. Have I missed something in setting up 'resume from suspend'? I did refresh the /etc/udev/rules.d/*.rules as suggested for the latest udev-upgrade. This 'problem' has been going on, I think, since kernel 3..., so might not be related to the current/14.0 release I am running.

Thanks in advance for any tip that helps me to prevent such rebooting,

Rob

In the syslog things pop up like:

Then on recovery from suspend:

Mar 21 11:23:05 knotAS kernel: [ 3773.690167] Freezing remaining freezable tasks ... (elapsed 8.87 seconds) done.
ATA2/sr0 is the DVD-drive.
Can someone give me an idea how this can be solved. I cannot burn an installation DVD at the moment and PXE-booting gives me a headache, but that is another post.....

Cheers,

rob
