newbie

hi, I'm a newbie who already tried mandrake, redhat and debian. every distro has its + and - . I decided to try slack, I dont have that experience in linux but I hope I can handle the installation.
can I install slack directly from ftp? I prefer ftp install coz I can install from the slackware-current dir so that I have XFree86 4.2 and KDE3 directly.
Which bootdisks should I have?
thanx in advance

There is no ftp install for slack, you can do a network install, a harddrive install or the easiest way would be to download the slackware-current directory, burn it to a cd and swap the slack install cd for this one and select it as the install media, have a look at the online slackware book at www.slackware.com/book/
