I am glad others are happy, but I have lost resume from hibernate on my little old netbook. The resume starts, then stalls with a frozen blank screen, which requires a hard power reset. From /var/log/syslog

Very nice . Only glitch that I noticed (besides the Virtual Box issue noted above) is that dhcpd times out and thus no network connection for me. Solved this by adding DHCP_TIMEOUT option to /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf and all is well.
I am not sure if this actually relates to the dhcpd upgrade of April 21?
Virtual Box issue it does not seem to depend on the new kernel. By compiler downgrading (gcc 7 -> gcc 3) and the modules recompiling, Virtualbox resumes running. I think the last gcc will still create problems.

I am glad others are happy, but I have lost resume from hibernate on my little old netbook. The resume starts, then stalls with a frozen blank screen, which requires a hard power reset. From /var/log/syslog
I got same old nvidia related problem: hardware acceleration had to be disabled for Mozilla Firefox and chromium. I tested this with GT 240 and GT 710. Reproducible bug is produced when we use:
Mozilla firefox/Chromium with hardware acceleration enabled, mouse middle scroll, slackware64-current, nVidia GT 240 or GT 710, and nouveau driver.
OTOH, another machine with Radeon HD6400 runs without this incident.

Reason: add more details
In addition to that.. Xine is affected too (with GT 710 in use). System freezes after playing any video. I tried MPlayer on the same system, it runs OK.
The problem does not exist with the other two VGA cards: Radeon HD6400 and GT 240.
I have the appropriate line in /etc/lilo.conf. The problem went away when I reinstalled the 4.4.38 kernel. I have yet to try the latest 4.9.27 kernel on the netbook. I hope to try it out on the weekend. I have tried the patch suggested at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99295#c22 without success.
