I'm too lazy as well. I do know that I didn't have rc.rpc executable on the 14.1 nfs server and it nevertheless serve nfs mounts, and I did have to make it executable on the 14.2 upgrade, but whatever. It was a small, easily findable issue. I've made a note for future use. I'm going to try upgrading the Samba4 AD/DC server tomorrow, remotely! I'll post results!

Upgrade of AD/DC Samba4 server completed. Remote, not single user mode. Worked fine. I had one problem. I created a custom rc.sambaDC file for starting the Active Directory / Domain Controller (versus usual file server), so when slackpkg asked about Keep/Overwrite for rc.samba, I said "O[verwrite]" since mine was named differently. Bad. The action also replaced my entire /etc/samba directory along with the AD customized smb.conf, and wiped out the /etc/samba/private directory which had the DNS setting configuration. Fortunately, I made a backup and restoring the old /etc/samba directory and restarting samba and bind did the trick. I've made a note for the future.
