MPlayer and Star Wars 3 Trailer 2
I'm really impressed with MPlayer and it's ability to not only play any media format (you need all the codecs installed for that), but also it's ability to take movie files apart so that you can see each picture frame by frame and convert the audio track to a wav file to cut up for sounds.
The latest Star Wars 3 Trailer was released yesterday. Here are the links for the Quicktime files:
Once you have either of these files you can use MPlayer to take it apart. I have the Large sized trailer and have 70 MB of jpg files and one 28 MB wav file. Here's how it's done:
Getting a page not found error... I checked your links... The links you copied are put in exactly as shown above... another words the /us/mo...alob_480_dl.mov the "..." part is not replaced with the real link as it should be. You didnt copy the links but the shortcut for the links.
Heres the actual links which can also be found at www.starwars.com
This sounds like a good player and what I am looking for. Being somewhat new to installs on Linux, could you either point me to some install information or help line out the steps?
1. Where do you get Mplayer from?
2. How do you install it, and give access to all users?
3. Same above for the Codec.

These are not links to links like starwar.com gives, so that they stream and then the data is gone-they are downloadable links so that you can replay the movie trailer over and over without being on the internet.
Try right clicking on the real links that are above and selecting save as to download (don't Open if prompted....yet).
