Mount an LVM

I'm breaking things again. I installed suse on a 160gb usb drive; Let it default to an lvm install.I made the wrong selection in the install setup and it installed lilo (something I did do right) on the mbr of the drive containing my slackware system so I cound not boot slackware.
Got that sorted out, but in the process screwed things up so that I cannot boot the suse system.

I would like to get a look at /etc/lilo.conf for suse system, but that is an LVM and I havent been able to get that mounted.
Here is lvscan and vgscan:
Code:
root@abitbox:~# lvscan
  inactive '/dev/system/home' [25.00 GB] inherit
  inactive '/dev/system/root' [20.00 GB] inherit
root@abitbox:~# vgscan
Reading all physical volumes. This may take a while...
Found volume group "system" using metadata type lvm2
root@abitbox:~#
Here is an fdisk of the volume the lvm is on:
Code:
root@abitbox:~# fdisk -l /dev/sdd

Disk /dev/sdd: 250.0 GB, 250059350016 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 30401 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x3193294e

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdd1 * 1 9 72261 83 Linux
/dev/sdd2 10 30401 244123740 8e Linux LVM
root@abitbox:~#
The slackware system is on hda1,hda2,hda3

How do I get the LVM group mounted in slackware so I can look at the lilo.conf of the suse sustem???

Any assistance appreciated
Gary

PS:
(the reason I installed suse was so that I could get a gnome system so I could install glabels without suffering thru an enormous dependency hell)

Hello,

What's the result of simply doing:

Code:
mount /dev/system/root /mnt/hd
Create /mnt/hd if it doesn't exist.

If you boot with Slackware 12.2, it should have identified your vg "system" and activate it.

If the mount command above provides an error, try to activite the vg and its logical volumes by running:

Code:
vgchange -ay

Hello,

Thank you for the reply.

Code:
mount /dev/system/root /mnt/hd
worked. I did not have to enter
Code:
vgchange -ay
I had tried something similar a few days ago, that did not work:
Code:
mkdir /lvroot
mount /dev/system/root /lvroot
I do not remember the mount error message
