Brasero now handles all sorts of audio files as well as playlists correctly.
You said here, a few weeks ago, that you would switch to CentOS / Red Hat for your MLED offering, for lack of "corporate support" (PAM, AD, Kerberos, LDAP, ...) in Slackware. Then you announced coming back to Slackware because of other problems.
As you obviously know well CentOs/Red Hat (your book and past experience), would you care sharing with us what sort of problems you did encounter with CentOs? Anything unexpected in recent versions?
Anything missing in it you came to appreciate in Slackware?
TIA
Phil
(maybe you did detail these problems in a post I missed - In that case just let me know)

Well, the lack of PAM is indeed very annoying, and I don't understand the distribution maintainer's take on this. There's no benefit in leaving it out, but it's a showstopper for all those of us (only a handful apparently) who have to deal with centralized authentication.

The installer sucks big time. Even CentOS 6.x crippled its text-mode installer into an unusable state. GNOME 3 on CentOS 7.x sucks big time. I tried to build the broadcom-sta module on a laptop running CentOS 6.6, and there was no way I could get it to work. Some libraries on CentOS 6.x are painfully obsolete. CentOS 7.x is only available for x86_64, but I have quite a lot of old 32-bit server and desktop hardware to deal with here in South France. Etc. etc.
So I came back to Slackware which allows me to do all these things well. As for central authentication, I have to do that with NIS/NFS for now... which is like managing a taxi cab company and being forced to drive around in a pink Volkswagen Beetle with flower power bumper stickers and Joan Baez full blast in the car stereo. You try to get used to it, but it's clearly not adapted to what you do.
Distribution: Slackware64-current with "True Multilib" and KDE4Town.

I wish NFS were that much fun, though I completely understand the point you're making. Still, in some neighborhoods in the US, unlike France, the pink beetle and Joan Baez would be a workable business model for a taxi company.

NFS works perfectly. It's NIS that is obsolete and insecure.
Slackware doesn't ship PAM, and thus it's impossible to setup secure LDAP authentication without jumping through burning loops.
It's a bit like Slackware not shipping SSH because there's already telnet. I really don't understand Patrick Volkerding's take on this. Shipping PAM would hardly make a difference to anyone, and it would go completely unnoticed to desktop users. On the other hand, it's a massive showstopper to those of us who want to use Slackware as a replacement of RHEL/CentOS (FreeIPA and the likes), Debian, SLES or Windows AD Server.
I just wanted to say that the issue I had with evince (post #192) sorted itself out; I think, but am not quite sure, that it was a hangover from copying the /etc/skel to the (existing) home directory, which initially did not go as smoothly as it should have done (also sorted).

Joan Baez??!!! You don't look that old!
How old is old? Hitherto I had never thought of myself as being old, but I quite like Joan Baez

Thanks for the info. I used to think that, out of the box, CentOS would be a good -if not exciting- candidate for corporate desktops and servers...
Did you also consider an Ubuntu flavor (xubuntu?), or Mint as a base for MLED?
I am not pushing for any of these! I am perfectly happy with my slackware (especially as a development platform), but I keep wondering what I would do in a business setup like yours!
