I've never been able to get the interal mic working on my Lenovo Ideapad U330p. No matter how I fiddle with the settings, it's either dead or producing white noise.
If one makes a google search for "lenovo internal mic linux" one get a lot of hits - some people have been able to solve it, others haven't.
Headsets, both wired and bluetooth, works great, though.
Hi, docbg. I don't know much about the audio settings [or much else for that matter. ] in linux. Especially not from the terminal. And I only know the KDE desktop a little, so if you have a different desktop, my suggestion for you may not work.
I had a problem with my mic and the Zoom app. I was able to fix it this way:
In KDE, I went to the volume control > Mixer > Settings > Audio Setup and then a newer, larger window called KDE Audio and Video Settings open. I went to the 2nd tab, Hardware, and messed around with the menus there until I was getting sound in Zoom.
You'll want to have an app open that is using the mic while you mess around with the settings, that way you can tell if the settings are making a difference.
I don't know anything about Lenovo hardware, so I can't suggest any particular settings for you to try. My question and answer for the forum might have some info to help you. You can find that here: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ne-4175690273/
