Tried to reinstall and received lots of 404 error mesages.
This morning (in AU) changed the miror to the ISP Iinet and now i have 569 packages to upgrade...

If the mirror has been compromised I could wipe the lot and redo a fresh install.

Don't. The first line in http://ftp.iinet.net.au/pub/slackwar.../ChangeLog.txt
Code:
Sat Nov 18 19:26:33 UTC 2023
http://ftp.cc.swin.edu.au seems extremely slow but it's up to date.
Maybe try another mirror...
