Looking for kernel-modules-4.4.217-x86_64-1.txz

Hi,

During an upgrade of a long-neglected pc from 14.2 (running kernel 4.4.217) to 15.0 the power went out before I got around to updating elilo.

I can boot the pc at the moment (cryptvg setup with an initrd) using a vmlinuz-4.4.217 from the 14.2 days. However, all kernel modules are now 5.15.19. This means I cannot edit the elilo partition (vfat) to add the 5.5.19 kernel for 15.0.

The 4.4.217 kernel was a patch from 26 march 2020 I believe. It has since been superceded by 4.4.301 and has been removed from the mirrors.

Does anybody know where i can find the package kernel-modules-4.4.217-x86_64-1.txz ? I hope to use this to boot, load the vfat kernel module, edit the elilo partition and complete the upgrade to 15.0...

Thanks, that's nearly what I'm looking for. However, it's cumulative for the 15.0 tree and not the 14.2 tree...

There are some 4.4.x kernels there on the -current tree, but not 4.4.217.
If you don't manage to install 4.4.217 modules, I think another try would
be to boot with the 15.0 dvd or usb and chroot to installed 15.0 partition,
then install the modules package from install media.
The 15.0 iso has 5.15.19 kernel version, I think that would work.

Would probably be easier to use liveslak or the Slackware install ISO, chroot into the installation and install elilo that way. Should be this simple:

Code:
mount /dev/your_root_partition /mnt
mount --rbind /dev /mnt/dev
mount --rbind /sys /mnt/sys
mount --rbind /proc /mnt/proc
chroot /mnt
And then run pkgtool, go to Setup, and re-run the elilo script.
