long filename problem


hi

i have 4 fileserver running slackware 10.1...my problem many of my user is creating so long filename and also some of my user are creating long folder name and i have experiencing problem in my files went i tried to backup the files.
is there a way or script that automatically denied a user or limit the long filename to be created? thks!

I don't know how to limit the file names, but you could just put the files inside a tar file, that will save the long file names

Limiting the length of the files it's not a good way to solve this IMHO.
