LibreOffice no longer runs on current -- error while loading shared libraries: libboost_system.so.1.77.0

Code:
l/boost-1.78.0-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded.
I hadn't planned to update this at such a late stage, but POV-Ray needs it
and everything we ship builds fine against it. Thanks to bender647.
  Shared library .so-version bump.
I assume that is my problem right there and that the solution is to rebuild LibreOffice, which is not something I'm looking forward to doing. That last time the build took hours and filled up my root drive, so I ended up having to do it twice. In fact, I may just uninstall it and call it a day. What has LibreOffice ever done for me? Not enough.

Here is what I get running LibreOffice Writer from the command line:

Code:
eford@dimholt:~$ libreoffice --writer %U
/usr/lib64/libreoffice/program/oosplash: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_system.so.1.77.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I have same problem. You could check if SlackOnly.com has up-to-date package, but I don't know its dependencies.

I confess that I put minimal effort into searching the board for answers. A search on "LibreOffice" returned a flood and nothing on the first page of results jumped out at me. My linuxquestions.org search-foo is weak, as is my eyesight.

That boost-compat solved my problem. Alien Bob to the rescue. Marav with the assist. And I'm not even running Alien Bob's build. I used Ponce's slackbuilds.org git repository to build the beast sans java.

LibreOffice lives on to continue doing very little on my machine. I actually discovered the issue by clicking the icon by mistake. I was going for Mousepad, which sees a lot more use. Executive decision: it's time to peel LibreOffice Writer off my status bar and relegate it to the bowels of the task menu. Kile might take its place.
