Hello, i've bothered you in other topic to know how to put the menubar inside a kicker panel. Now i found an applet that could do it, but the instructions to install it doesn't see right!
http://www.liacs.nl/~snijssen/kmenuapplet/
Here is where i having problems. I'm using Slackware 9 and KDE 3.1:
A kmenubar.cpp and a kmenubar.h patch/replacement. These files are modified from KDE 3.1 RC2. They
go into the kdelibs/kdeui/ path. Recompile kdelibs by typing make install.
The only kdeui dir i have is ./opt/kde/share/apps/kdeui and it is empty. I found the files you said inside
/opt/kde/include, so i replaced them and type make install, just to get an error message - make: *** No
rule to make target `install'. Stop. - which makes sense since i don't have a Makefile there...
Another one, now related to the source:
move the .tgz file to your kdebase/kicker/applets/ directory and extract it there, for example using tar zxf
kmenubarapplet.tgz. This will create a directory called menubar.
modify Makefile.am in the kdebase/kicker/applets/ directory: after SUBDIRS add menubar.
go to your kdebase/ directory and type make -f Makefile.cvs. This will create the necessary Makefile.in
file for the applet. Then type configure to regenerate all Makefiles, among which also our applet's
Makefile. Then compile and install the applet by typing make install.
The directory i have is /opt/kde/share/apps/kicker/applets, where i created the menubar dir from the .tgz.
I modified the Makefile.am and type the make command. Nothing happened, the Makefile.cvs don't
exists. the /opt and the /kde/opt are empty, and i didn't found it (the Makefile.cvs) in my HD.
Please, help me. I really want to have the menubar inside my panel!
