You can fix selecting zoneinfo on plasma clock , you cant see, but click , and see a menu ... select country ..or under ntp autoclock function , plasma then removes regular file /etc/localtime and make a symlink.
or if you want more easy way , remove /etc/localtime , and copy localtime-copied-from , as a "localtime" in same place /etc
some easy ways to fix , but desirable is no interaction of users needed.
Yep hopefully the devs of QT will patch this , or Pat can implement a fix until then .
In the qt bug thread its supossed enter on this version of qt5 , but missed , probably under qt5-5.15.3 , or can apply manually as other packages patched with upstream fixes.
When exiting a Plasma5 XSession there are a few seconds of a black screen until you are dropped into the command line; approximately 4 seconds or so. Anyone else notice this?
Just for fun, I changed inittab to 4 and edited rc.4 accordingly , and now my resolution is fscked -- I have a suspicion that it started a wayland rather an xorg session, because I only had this kind of issue when trying to run Plasma in a Wayland session, even though I made sure to install the guest additions. So how does one make sure rc.4 runs x and not wayland?

Ok I did that to myself, I failed to see the drop down and Wayland was selected by default. I chose XSession and I'm good almost. My question now is - how do you config SDDM for a higher res than 800x600? Because now my session is 800x600 going into Plasma5 when I set it to 1920x1080.
-edit
Also, when I log out of the xsession I got a black screen:
On this screen it hangs for a 4 seconds or so.
Now I'm stuck with a black screen after just logging out - mouse cursor is there if I move around the , but nothing else happens - it just stays a black screen after logging out. Nothing happens unless I issue a ctrl+alt+backspace, and then SDDM is restarted and I am at the SDDM prompt again.
I'm still struggling with resolutions between SDDM and Plasma5 itself. Now for some reason the resolution for SDMM is 1920x1200 , but my Plasma5 session is normal after SDDM (1920x1080) - and I don't even know what I did differently. Seriously how does one get a consistent resolution on both SDDM and then Plasma5? I would prefer 1920x1080 for both SDDM and then Plasma.
-edit
Also for further info - I am using XSession, and not Wayland.

Try:
System Settings > Startup and Shutdown > Login Screen (SDDM) > Theme > choose the theme that you want, then
System Settings > Startup and Shutdown > Login Screen (SDDM) > Advanced > click on the "Sync" button.

Reason: Some more steps
Distribution: Slackware64 15.0 (started with 13.37). Testing -current in a spare partition.

Rep:
Xfce clipman clipboard manager doesn't load because libqrencode isn't present
Code:
paulo@paulobash~$ xfce4-clipman
xfce4-clipman: error while loading shared libraries: libqrencode.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
paulo@paulobash~$ xfce4-clipman-history
xfce4-clipman-history: error while loading shared libraries: libqrencode.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
xfce4-clipman-settings runs ok, there is an option to enable qr-code support.
Strange that after The Big Merge(tm), when running 'slackpkg install-new', I'm getting two packages from alienBob's repository
to install as new. The packages are 'qrencode-4.0.2' and 'qtkeychain-0.10.0'.
edit- I just realized that this isn't the proper thread
edit2- Maybe we need a new thread "The Big Merge(tm) hits -current main tree"
edit3- Never mind.
Those packages are in fact in the -current tree, I don't know why 'slackpkg install-new' didn't list them.

I'm seeing the same behaviour
(with either Plasma or Xfce session)

I have to assume it works, but the resolution is still fscked probably because I am running virtualbox and already the settings for the graphics adapter has to be changed specifically if running Plasma5. Also the other question I do have though is the sync option, it prompts for a password so I assume it copies the settings globally?
I'll ask here, because apparently there are more KDE-aware people here:
1. Onscreen keyboard in SDDM is disproportionally small. I think it's expected to occupy at least half of the screen, but on my machine it is tiny, letters barely visible. Any suggestions for how to fix this?
UPD: I found a "kinda" solution to this: /etc/sddm.conf has an option HiDPI=true (default is false), which, instead of making the keyboard too small, makes it too big. It's not much of an issue at the login time though, but I guess a bug should be still filed.
2. Krunner5 is stealing my Alt-F2 in xfce. Alt-F2 is set to execute xfce4-appfinder --collapsed, but krunner5 pops up instead. How to limit this guy to KDE sessions only?

In my system there is only one desktop (currently using KDE5) and several WM like fluxbox and twm. Because in my experience installing multiple desktop will messing up my desktop menu and startup environment.
