Cool KDE 4.8 aborting same as KDE 4.7.4 13.37 current

coming back to Slackware after a hiatus. Clean install from DVD, did NOT install KDE, Apache server, MySQL and php a I want to custom install these.
so I followed Alien bob's instructions on installing 4.7.4 startx aborts when using kde

so 4.8 came out I cleaned out 4.7.4 updated to current, followed the 4.8 instructions
and it still aborts the same way.

what am I missing

Code:
ksmserver: error while loading shared libraries: libsqlite3.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
