Issue with xkeybard-config file

Hi,
I am on slackware 15.0 , 64 bits and I have an issue with the X-server which doesn't work anymore.
Apparently it could be the xkeybard-config file...
See the log :

[ 1195.073] (II) modeset(0): Damage tracking initialized
[ 1195.073] (II) modeset(0): Setting screen physical size to 508 x 285

[ 1195.183] XKB: Failed to compile keymap
[ 1195.183] Keyboard initialization failed. This could be a missing or incorrect setup of xkeyboard-config.

Fatal server error:
[ 1195.183] (EE) Failed to activate virtual core keyboard: 2(EE)
[ 1195.183] (EE)
Please consult the The X.Org Foundation support
at http://wiki.x.org
for help.
[ 1195.183] (EE) Please also check the log file at "/var/log/Xorg.0.log" for additional information.
[ 1195.183] (EE)
[ 1195.183] (II) AIGLX: Suspending AIGLX clients for VT switch
[ 1195.230] (EE) Server terminated with error (1). Closing log file.

Where can I find the xkeyboard-config file ?
Have you an idea to solve this issue ?

Best regards,
Beren

Have you tried
  • checking the disk?
  • reinstalling xkeyboard-config &
  • Set/accept the default locale and keyboard until you're sure everything is going?

It's no harm to mention your LOCALE settings. Folks are from all over so you can tap into regional experience.

By the way, it's easier to read code between CODE tags (without the spaces)

Code:
 [ CODE ] [/ CODE]

Hi,
Thanks for your replies.
I had to reinstall my slackware because my root partition was too busy.
So the problem is "solve" if I can say...
All the best,
Beren

I wanted to give an additional comment in this thread because I had the exact same problem and found this thread. After a while I realized I could log in as root, but not as a normal user.
I found out that my /tmp was full, after cleaning it the problem dissapeared.
(I use different partitions for /tmp among others)
