Intermittant slackware-security email loss .

Hello Patrick (or whoever else manages the slackware-security list) ,
I've noticed a couple of times in the past that I'd get a Security update but no email concerning it .

Today it happened again , This time I am very sure of my iptables filtering & greylist are allowing thru from connie (& it's surrounding devices) for smtp connections .

And I do get some , as the last I have rcvd was for (*) mozilla-thunderbird-91.12.0-x86_64-1_slack15.0.txz

Tho today I rcvd a surprise update , zlib-1.2.12-x86_64-2_slack15.0.txz
And no email .

I am subscribed as babydr@baby-dragons.com

Tia , JimL

Tho now I find that the zlib update was not due to 'Security' but a Bug release which has no maillinf list .

I'd really like to see the underlying issue addressed .

ie: (Apparently) Unannounced updates .

Code:
Tue Aug 9 19:25:22 UTC 2022
patches/packages/zlib-1.2.12-x86_64-2_slack15.0.txz: Rebuilt.
  This is a bugfix update.
Applied an upstream patch to restore the handling of CRC inputs to be the
same as in previous releases of zlib. This fixes an issue with OpenJDK.
  Thanks to alienBOB.

It's been reported before:
https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...-a-4175708827/

But this is always up to date, I think:

@drumz , Thank you for the report of the possible losses of emails of the Security list . I should have reported the issue there . But after finding that it was a "Bug fix" release ... Glad I did not .

The http://www.slackware.com/security/ I have always found to be upto date as regards those updates that are related to Security issues that Patrick & team deem of sufficient importance .

My complaint is with the "Bug fix" releases , They are NOT sent as emails to those of us who (I've got to admit only occasionally) manually update very critical systems . As I like to not get surprised by changes to tools I've created that use an unannounced update .

Tnx Agn , JimL

Ah, yes I agree emails would be nice. I'm in the habit of checking http://www.slackware.com/changelog/s...php?cpu=x86_64, which can be around 2 hours out of date (but I have to wait that long anyway for my preferred mirror to sync up).
