OK, here's the situation:
486-100 laptop
32MB RAM, 500MB HDD
No internal CD, but I have a ParaDisk PP IDE drive from which I would like to install Slack 8 - at least some of it
I tried the pportide.i bootdisk, and I don't think it found the CD (I might have missed it).
Questions:
1. How can I test if the bootdisk actually did find the CD?
2. Does anyone have any experience with parallel port IDE drives?
3. Where can I find more info re: PP-IDE and Linux?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
TIA, Bob
