Identd help

I have the Pidentd that came with slackware 8.1 installed, but how would I go on and start it. I have this version: pidentd-3.0.12-i386-1.

It says it can be starded from /etc/inittab, but what should I add there and where? Is there any other way to start it with just some command?

the identd deamon is normally started thru your /etc/inetd.conf
You can edit that configuration file with your favorite editor, and go to the bottom. A few lines above the netbios lines there, you will find an in.identd which is , by default, unchecked.
