I think my bash is possessed.


Sometimes, when I exit fluxbox, and it goes back to the console prompt, it looks like the console has been scrolled upwards a bit, because the messages that appear on the screen are kinda cut off in the middle. and the point where the cursor would be looks like it's below the bottom of the screen. If I hit return a few times to try to get it to scroll down, lines of wierd ascii chars start appearing, in different colors with different background colors, some of them blinking, it looks like the computer has been possessed. I can't see what I am typing if it is in that area, and rebooting seems to be the only way to get rid of this. I do have "clear" in my .bash_logout, but typing "exit" to log out doesn't clear the screen, a login prompt just appears at the top but any characters that were on the screen previous to that still remain.

Sounds weird ... have you tried typing
reset
yet?

No I have not, didn't know about that command. I will try that the next time this problem occurs and post back if there are any more problems. Thanks for the advice.
