Become root with
Code:
su -

Then read this one to have the modem loaded at systemboot.

It will load the enviroment values like PATH where your user finds executables.

To JOHN KFT

John,
I have a dell laptop also and would like to know which laptop you have and where you got the driver.
My laptop is a dell Inspirion 1000. The modem is a Agere ac'97 sis 7013 modem.

If your is similiar to mine I would like to know what driver you used to get it going. My email address is charlescpc@yahoo.com

Thanks
