GRUB, USB Floppy

I tried to install Slack 8 on my tecra 8200 this weekend and ran into the following problems. Any suggestions, pointers to tfm would be appreciated.

Because I can only use a USB floppy, I could not create a boot disk at install time.

After installation I reboot my box and it will not boot (using LILO). So I thought of getting Grub but due to the usb floppy thing, i can't load Grub.

Has anyone run into a similar issue that could help me out?

Another thing you might want to try is booting from the cdrom rather than booting from the floppy.
