gnucash 2 and slackware 11

I was just thinking... both gnucash and slackware are soon to be releasing new major releases.

I am really anticipating upgrading Slack 10.0 on my 1Ghz pc to Slack 11 (assuming that is what it is going to be called).

I am not anticipating upgrading gnucash from release 1.8 to 2.0. I know that gnucash 2.0 will be using the gtk+ 2 libraries (thankfully), however, there are many dependencies that use gnome components. I know that many of these dependencies will not be included with slackware 11. I really dread going through the 'dependency hell' (again) to get the new version running.

Oh well, it still is a ways off yet....

Don't see much of a question here, but I will offer this:

Gnucash was so awful to install mainly because of all the old gtk/gnome dependencies.
I imagine this will be less painfull if what you say is correct regarding GTK2.

I would guess that the easiest way to solve any potential problems would be to install freerock, dropline, or whatever gnome flavor you prefer. I use freerock and have few problems that can't be beaten into submission.
