Hello,
I'm running Slackware 10.2 and having problems with german umlauts in Java applications. I can copy and paste them and they look correct, but whenever I try to type them directly, they look like an undefined character (square). I noticed that in Zend Studio and the Jabber client Spark. Maybe the Java applications get confused with the keyboard layout or something and there is just an environment variable that must be set.
That is the content of my /etc/profile.d/lang.sh:
Code:
LANGUAGE=de_DE@euro:de_DE
LANG=de_DE.ISO-8859-15
LC_TIME="de_DE@euro"
LC_MONEYTARY="de_DE@euro"
export LC_COLLATE=C
That's the relevant part of the input device section of my /etc/X11/xorg.conf:
Code:
Identifier "Keyboard1"
Driver "kbd"
Option "AutoRepeat" "500 30"
Option "XkbRules" "xorg"
Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
Option "XkbLayout" "de"
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Lars
