Firefox 49 for Slackware 14.2?

Where can I get a copy of it?

Just grab the 49 slackbuild from a -current mirror and compile to yourself. That's what I did and it works fine.

An alternative is to use ruario's latest-firefox script to automatically download it from mozilla and package it up as a slackware package.

For me that's the fastest and most convenient way to upgrade Firefox, I used many times and it never failed.

I also use ruario's script and ignore (or blacklist if you're using slackpkg) the official Slackware Firefox update packages.

I used that for a while.
It's nice.
But now I'm using firefox ESR from slackware.

There is also a guide somewhere to allow firefox autoupdate in slackware.

I just install it from the Mozilla tar package in my home directory, no need for root and i get Firefox in my language (fr). The locale switcher is not available for the Firefox version that comes with Slackware 14.2. At the prompt i choose Firefox 49 as default browser.

If there is ever a delay in getting an ESR update on Slackware, my script can fetch the ESR instead:

Code:
$ FFESR=Y ./latest-firefox.sh

It is quicker to switch to root and run the script (with -i for autoinstall), than to download and unpack it. Also by installing you get desktop envionment integration out of the box. As for languages, the script can also handle that.

Code:
# FFLANG=fr ./latest-firefox.sh -i

upgraded to 50.0

Thank you Ruario , you're a genius, i ran the script after modifying the language bit as you suggested (# FFLANG=fr ./latest-firefox.sh -i) on line 67 without the #, ran upgradepkg and got firefox 50.0 running, and switched to french language with locale switcher after intalling the language pack, OK for me, thanks again!
