Does Pat Still Drink Beer ???

Hey guys,

Im not sure how true this fact is but i've heard that the early releases of Slackware enticed users to send Pat a brew of local beer. (this fact could be wrong and therefore disregard this post :P !!!!)..... and that would be embarrassing lol.

Anyways i figure we should all try and get the Slackware maintainer drunk and bring back this old tradition (if it exists) to show our appreciation of the hard work of the Slackware team.

If Pat has a a PO box or whatever we can send our local beers too, could it please be posted in this thread ??

Cheers

If I were Pat, I would be more concerned about where the OP lives and whether the beer there is drinkable

0men, you're too generous - have you any idea how many slackers there are in the world? With that and postage you'd need a very deep pocket! Nowadays I drink a beer about once a year, so your offer would be wasted on me - though thanks, mate

If I come to Australia - and I may well do that - family and all that, but really because I want to go somewhere that still has some open spaces without borders - I'll get in contact with you - I'll need advice about the best places in Australia to backpack.

I wouldn't put your e-mail like that. It is easily harvested by bots.

Lol - not sure if that expression means the same in your part of the world as what it means here but I found that very funny .

Yeah, I still drink beer. I don't remember ever asking anyone to send me any, though, but maybe I did. If I did and then forgot, it's likely because of the beer.

There's a 30 pack of "Special Export" chilling here for the holiday weekend! I <3 that swill!

Yet another Linux Question [SOLVED]...

So that we understand where the idea of sending beer to Pat is coming from, in Wikipedia you can find the following:
Quote:
Patrick is an avid homebrewer and beer lover.[3] Early versions of Slackware would entreat users to send him a bottle of local beer in appreciation for his work.
and that was based on a 1994 interview with Linux Journal.
