Just go to your closest Slackware mirror,
download the kernel source and enable
SMP and set it up to optimize the kernel
for your box....
ok i think i found the rite kernel (after days of searching) it is kernel-2.4.20.tar.gz i'm just hoping that this is corect for my setup. now i'm d/l in windows. do i burn this as an image w/ nero like the iso slack 9.0?
You then have to go compile your kernel (with the SMP options being on).
Thats a whole different thing, check the tutorial at the top of this forum for help.
But I suggest you do what Tinkster said, as it saves you work. Go to the /k directory of a Slackware FTP, download the kernel source package, and install the package "installpkg kernelsourcefile.tgz". Then go through the tutorial at the top of the forum, and enable SMP and customize for your processors during the "make menuconfig" part of the guide.
