You come in here expecting that Alien will just add another SlackBuild and package to his repertoire. That's not how things work.

If you think iridium is a better browser, why don't you provide the SlackBuild and submit it to SBo? Contribute back to the community you're so willing to pull from.

We are not here to hold your hand. We are not here to provide software to you at your beck and call. We are not here to do your bidding. We are volunteers who happen to enjoy Slackware and like to help out when possible, but that help doesn't consist of providing software when it's demanded of us.

As for replying to threads that are Closed/Solved... we can't reply to Closed threads as they are locked, but "Solved" we are able to. There's no rules against it.

We're rude to people that demand things without any understanding that we're volunteers that aren't paid to be on this forum and we aren't paid to provide SlackBuilds or packages to the community.

Well-said bassmadrigal! I've found the Slackware community to be very welcoming and helpful. I remember in 2004 that I received help from kind Slackers when I was trying to configure sound on an ancient Pentium unit. I'm happy to be a member of the Slackware community.
Treat people the way you would like to be treated.

This.

And, seriously, even a cheap computer has 8 cores and 16gb these days. Who even notices how much of a "resource hog" their browser is?

A lot of us users are also contributors in the Slackware community. Whether it be as a casual supporter of LQ by answering / troubleshooting questions or a heavy hitter like alienBOB providing hundreds of packages, FOR FREE.

It's part of the Slackware ecosystem to roll up your sleeves and help out. If you just want to be a user, by all means. But don't complain that alien isn't doing enough. Send in a donation or contribute a SlackBuild before complaining like a small child that dropped their sippy cup.
