Question cdrom/cdrw how to set up as hd/scd

Does anyone know how to set it up so that my cdrom will be used as /dev/hdc and my cdrw will be used as scd0. Right now when I boot up they come up as scd0 and scd1.

I have both ide-scsi and ide-cd as modules.

Some help would be appreciated.

I didn't quite understand your question but try this.

Run the following command in the /dev dir
"ln -s scd0 cdr"

Add this to your fstab.
/dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,owner,ro 0 0
/dev/cdr /mnt/cdr iso9660 noauto,owner,ro 0 0

mount it like this...
mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdr /mnt/cdr

eventually that is what I will have to do. Currently my cdrom comes up as scd0 and my cdrw comes up as scd1. I need to make it so my cdrom is hdc and my cdrw is scd0. I'm not sure how to get the (i'm guessing) rc.d files to set it that way.
