There all not updating the new kernel. Let me try this another way. I don't give a lit which kernel is used. The 5.5.19 works just fine for me. When I do a future upgrade what will 5.5.139 kernel package be listed as? I didn't recognize it last time. So I don't upgrade to it. Will this have any impact on the system in the future?

Since the main reason behind kernel upgrades in the stable version of slackware is security fixes (see the changelog which mentiones all the security issues that has been fixed since 5.5.19 was released), not upgrading means that your system has quite a few vulnerabilities. Whether that will have any impact on your system depends, of course, on how/for what you use it.

IMHO you should upgrade.

both mirrors are up-to-date with the latest kernel discussed here.

Maybe re-try this if you have time, it is worth the bother.

unless you have some blacklisting that we cannot guess.
