./configure gave me a warning about glx.h not being up to date.

so i cheated and changed line 4080 of the configure script
from

glx_h_up_to_date=no

to

glx_h_up_to_date=yes

thanks for the patch.
tuxracer is working here on Slack 10.2.

Hi, egag.

I didn't see any configure error when I built tuxracer.
After reading your comment, I re-checked my gl-headers ( /usr/X11R6/include/GL/ ) and
found that my gl-headers were replaced to NVIDIA's header files (; gl.h glext.h glx.h glxext.h ).

I'm using NVIDIA's reference driver 1.0-7676 and the latest NVIDIA driver seems to overwrite
gl-headers forcibly.

The reason that I didn't see any configure error might be these NVIDIA's headers.

-------
Sorry for my poor english.

yeah...the nvidia driver installs it's own glx.

but i think the configure script makes an error when testing for some specific part of glx.
it compiled without a prob. and it runs ok.

anyways, nice to have tuxracer running again

Cool... Nice find on the patch tho I'm a little perplexed on how that's going to resolve a tcl problem...... :-) Slackware doesn't use gcc 3.4.x yet by default anyway...

That does irritate me about Nvidia. I have to uninstall it before building wxPython and a few others....

I can't see why anyone would want to use Tuxracer.

Tuxracer has been dead for years (became commersial)

PPracer is much better than Tuxracer (it's based on the last free version of Tuxracer), and it is not dead at all.

It's strange that so many seems to not know about that Tuxracer has been dead for years.

you can disable the installation of nvidia's opengl headers by using the --no-opengl-headers option when running the nvidia installer...

Thanks for your information about "--no-opengl-headers" option.
I should have read NVIDIA's README.txt more carefully.

I knew they wanted to make two versions, a free and a commercial one. But I didn't know there was PPracer, and this is really interesting.

I was quite disappointed when I wasn't able to compile tuxracer... because I never used DRI on my i830m except for glmatrix screensaver (even though I like it very much)!!! I hope ppracer will compensate the effort of make DRI work on my computer (and it was not so easy...)!
