Bug in rpm v.4.0.2 (Slack 9.1)

FYI there is a bug in the Slack 9.1 version of rpm (4.0.2).
If you have problems with it (like: segfault)
upgrade to the current version (4.2.1)

Slackware 9.1 now has been updated officially with RPM 4.2.1

ftp.slackware.com has the update. Other mirrors should follow soon.

There are some programs that are only available through RPMs. They are few and far between, but RPM sometimes is better than compiling from source, especially if you don't have time to compile, or did not install the whole development suite (I know, it's stupid, but I have seen some people not install gcc for security reasons, and it makes sense).
