Arrow apache & ssl packages

I have downloaded and installpkg'ed openssl, apache, php, mysql......

I have a small problem now: Apache only runs as normal http.

How can i get apache to serve as https://something/whatever

I have not made any major changes to the config files.

What would i have to do in order to get apache to work?

This might seem like a crazy suggestion, but how about reading the manual?

http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/

Is there any thing, that dummies like me, usually forget or do wrong when installing this combination?? Is there some sort of a fairly common error??

thanks

Or this from the upgrade instructions in the changelog for upgrading to the latest Apache package:

Quote:
First, stop apache: # apachectl stop
Then, upgrade the apache package:

# upgradepkg apache-1.3.34-i486-1.tgz

If you use mod_ssl, you'll also need to upgrade that package. The upgrade should save the important config files for mod_ssl, nevertheless it's a good idea to backup any keys/certificates you wish to save for mod_ssl (in /etc/apache/ssl.*), then upgrade mod_ssl:

# upgradepkg mod_ssl-2.8.25_1.3.34-i486-1.tgz

If necessary, restore any mod_ssl config files.

Finally, restart apache:

# apachectl start

Or, if you use mod_ssl:

# apachectl startssl
The last command is the one you need, but follow the tutorial posted by keefaz.

Regards,

dkpw
