anyone using Google Drive from slackware File manager?
hi,
I tried to log in to google drive from slackware's build-in file manager but recieved an error message from google that it doesn't allow third party login for security concerns.
just curious why the Google drive showing up in File manager if it's not viable.
A long time ago, I installed network/rclone (from SBo) and configured it to mount a google drive in my home directory at login. From then on I'm able to use thunar (xfce file manager) to move things to/from the google drive.
Unfortunately that particular machine is in storage at the moment while I move house interstate so I can't offer you a working configuration file or more tips on how to set it up but I assume rclone is taking care of all the security stuff (never had a third party login problem).
I used rclone directly (not via a file manager) for several cloud storage solutions. Drive was the only one that regularly stopped working. I think Google keeps changing the API to break "alien" apps.
