The 5.16.5 unofficial backport from
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/attachment.cgi?id=300398 had a few ordering/fit rejects, but no actual code changes were needed.
Tested on an old MSI Ghost Pro (MS-16h7) with Atheros Killer E2400 ethernet under 6.1.12 (kernel.org) and 64-bit 15.0 base. The GS60 is being transformed from its gaming laptop origins to a distcc server, thus the WOL is a feature. Probably better to spend US$30 on a wol capable dongle.
Given the low profile, I'll post a patch set somewhere if any one else has a need.
