Cool [Solved]latest proprietary drivers ati and kerbal space program


Got XCOM off steam to get going. Which was easier after finding a couple of commands to get the video card going...

After all that work trying to get open source drivers going too. I'll have to test it on kernel 4.3.3 too since I went back to 3.10.17 to install the installer also.

I tried the demo in slackware64-current using open source driver and it worked.
I guess you got an Intel/AMD setup since you need switchlib.
I grabbed the demo form https://kerbalspaceprogram.com/files...ux.zip.torrent
Unzipped and "chmod +x KSP.x86_64" and then i start the game ./KSP.x86_64
So please post more information and explain what's not working and whats working like if you run it through steam.
I even tried the steam demo from http://store.steampowered.com/app/220200/
Now the steam demo wouldn't run at first (it hanged at startup with "loading") so i added an launch option LANG=C %command% then it worked as expected.
Tested with amd APU and GPU.

Your glxinfo shows a segmentation fault, which should raise warning flags.

Looking how old that topic (=2010!) you link to is I would say that you've nuked your install in such a way that it is will be very hard to debug.

In my opinion you are better off by starting from a clean install of slackware currrent and think very hard whether you even need the Radeon proprietary driver. Common wisdom for AMD graphics appears to be that the proprietary driver is best avoided.

If you doesn't have multilib installed and try to start the game in steam it might try to start the 32-bit binary instead och the 64bit one so try an launch option to force 64bit in steam.

But multilib is required though too yea its installed. Baut yeah that command make it work from steam also. Good stuff!!
