The source file could not be read.

Navigating to the /ISO directory, the DL works.

All links work here in Firefox, and I just tried the link to the ISO also in links and lynx and both, recognizing an ISO file, proposed to download it. I also tried on the command line with curl and wet; no issue either. How did you try to download it? Maybe just a temporary hiccup of the web server?

TIP: to download an ISO it's preferable to use wget or curl (maybe links) than to click on a link on a graphical web browser, also for security reasons.

Update: My Firefox is set for only secure links. (https://)

The other links work, just the direct DL link errors out.

Never mind. Nothing to see here.

Thanks for the info, actually this web server does handle https links, so I just added an 's' to http in all links of the initial post of this thread.

A new ISO supersedes the previous one, that fixes the speech issue during installation. I have updated the link to this ISO in the initial post accordingly, and paste it below.

Nobody tried it so far? It doesn't bite and won't kill your pets...

Didier Are there any USA mirrors for Slint, either stable or testing for this rc? I've trying to run slapt-get for a number of packages that are newer in slint than for SBo and the downloads are taking quite a long time, compared to slackbuilds. I'm in Minnesota, about 200 miles from BDFL.
Thanks

No as far as I know. The only mirror is on Tadgy's server in the UK. Despite the Brexit it took me less than two minutes to upload there a new ISO which supersedes the previous. I am glad to have a fast connection in Paris.

The new ISO is there:
http://slackware.uk/slint/x86_64/sli....2.1.3-rc4.iso

PS I'm not sure what you want to do: install Slint or just install some Slint packages in Slackware? I ask because there are a few caveats doing the latter.

The speed now seems to have increased, not sure what changed. Too bad there isn't space with slackware primary server at OSU.

I'm interested in upgrading Slackware 14.2-64 multilib to Slint64-14.2.1.2 multilib. I was hoping to do it with slapt-get? The PC is upgraded to GRUB, and I've installed slapt-get from the SLINT repository. Then did a slapt-get update and slapt-get -i slapt-get.

In order to try-out slapt-get processing I removed the scribus SBo version and installed the scribus slint version. When trying to start from CLI it showed a missing libpodofo.so.0.9.3 which was quickly solved with a soft link.

I thought to try the next package of interest, inkscape, but was surprised that it identified a lot of dependencies to be installed and proceeded, instead of asking me to proceed before taking action. That probably is a learning step, because I see there is a "simulate" and "prompt" flag. I was slightly surprised after the dependencies loaded that inkscape wouldn't launch due to a missing linker, but really surprised that when I did a slapt-get --remove inkscape that it only removed inkscape and not the other dependencies it loaded. Now I'm curious what those dependencies were and how to remove them.

Thanks for the advice.

Do not translate rc.S and setup before I say "go"

[wrong thread]
