Radeon fglrx and mdk10...

ok, I installed the fglrx drivers version 3.7.6 everything works great.. TuxRacer ran... tron.. etc.. Ran great... fglrxinfo stated that it was using the ATI driver...

glxgears yields ruffly 2000fps
fgl_glxgears nets ruffly 300fps

my problem is.. when i installed UT, now everything works fine in window mode.. but when i go to full screen.. the screen turns to garbage.. now i have not tried any other games yet.. so i dont know if this is ut related or fglrx related...

I did some further information finding to learn that

dmesg | grep fglrx
pulls up all the normal stuff.. except for one line

Code:
[fglrx:firegl_addmap] *ERROR* mtrr allocation failed (-22)
ive tried disabling the mtrr options in the xf86config filr but no luck... im not even sure if that is even the problem with UT... it may just be UT.. but i thought i would post up and see

btw.. TuxRacer runs in fullscreen mode

thanks
trey

I think I got the ATI drivers for MDK 10.0 installed correctly for my Radeon 9800, however Tuxracer just closes as soon I run the program.

Any way to check to see if the drivers are installed properly? Also why are the latest ATI drivers labeled i386, I though 10.0 was at least 586?

Thumbs up

fglrxinfo from the terminal in X will state whether you are using Mesa or ATI...

EDIT: i dont know why they are labeled i386 (i think they have all been labled that though), but they are the correct ones

btw... Does anyone have the 3.7.0 driver available?? or know where i can get it.. I want to try and install 3.7.0 and see if the mtrr goes away.. but i cant fine the driver on ati's site.

thanks
trey
