Maybe I should dig out my copy of CSS Zen Garden. We could have a contest for best new design. All the cool kids update their website look and feel periodically.
Yes, I like it this way, but what is an example of a more modern looking forum? I hadn't noticed anything dated looking about this one in particular, so would need something to compare to... I guess it doesn't offer a dark mode, it is sometimes jarring to switch to it from other tabs, especially at night...
And what makes it look abandoned? Seems fairly active...
Personally, I come here for the stuff in the posts - the meat of matters. Complaints about eye candy are immature and don't need serious treatment or long threads. Also, familiarity is good.
Let our moaner about eye candy design us a better site, and I'm sure it will be considered on it's merits. That's the Open source way, isn't it?
I'd prefer the right-hand side panels to go away to give more horizontal space to the actual comments (more important for those of us with small screens), but I come here for the content, not the layout.
