Thinkpenguin Wireless G USB Adapter cannot connect to the internet in Trisquel 6.0

I am currently using Trisquel 6.0. My computer is Toshiba Satellite-L645. My wireless chip is Broadcom. I realised that Broadcom doesn't work well with Linux, so I purchased a wireless USB adapter from ThinkPenguin.

The wireless USB adapter can connect to my home wireless network, but I cannot access any websites at all.

I am not trying to get Broadcom to work with my computer. I just want the wireless USB adapter to work. Can anyone please help me?

I suppose other wireless devices work fine?
try typing into terminal

if that works something is wrong with your browser. Try also rebooting computer..
